Union Pacific’s 4-12-2

Union Pacific’s 4-12-2, 9000 class locomotive was unique and exclusive for UP. Built by Alco in Schenectady, NY, 88 were manufactured from 1926 through 1930 and used to increase UP freight train’s speed in flat country. Only one survives at the Railway Museum in Los Angeles.
